This podcast features a burning live set from the 10 piece band straight out of São Paulo Brazil, Bixiga 70, at the amazing East Village venue, Nublu.
We then went to WKCR the next day to broadcast a radio interview with bandmembers Mauricio Fleury (keys and guitars) and Cuca Ferreira (baritone sax) which will follow this live set.
Bixiga 70 combines Afro- beat, Guinean malinké, Brazilian candomblé, samba, cumbia and funk…to name a few of the influences that create their irresistible sound.
