NYC Radio Live is dedicated to documenting and sharing the musical renaissance happening today in New York City. On the program, musicians from all corners of the globe come to to perform live and discuss their music.
The podcast culminates every year with the Ragas Live Festival, a 24 hour concert featuring over 60 world-class musicians. Performed for a live audience from venues such as the Rubin Museum of Art and Pioneer Works, the event is broadcast for a global audience on WKCR 89.9 FM-NY
NYC Radio Live was founded by musician David Ellenbogen (Brooklyn Raga Massive) who has hosted radio programs on WKCR since 1997. The guests range from well known performers (McCoy Tyner, Hugh Masekela, Yusef Lateef, Walter Becker of Steely Dan, Jaimoe of the Allman Brothers) to traditional musicians that we record in places like Samoa and Mali.
